Google Calendar Integration
Use Google Calendar integration to let Dawn read your events, prepare for meetings, and create or update events with confirmation, scoped to your own account.
Google Calendar is a personal integration. You connect it to your own Google account, and it stays scoped to you. It does not become a workspace-wide source.
Before you start
- A Google account with the calendar you want Dawn to use.
Google Calendar connects through Google sign-in. There is no manual token to manage.
Connecting Google Calendar
- Open Dawn Web and go to your account settings.
- Open My connections. This is separate from the workspace Integrations screen used for shared team sources.
- Start the Google Calendar connection and complete the Google sign-in and consent flow.
Dawn requests the calendar scopes it needs to read events and to create, update, and respond to events. You grant or decline these during the Google consent step.
What Dawn can do
Once connected, an agent acting for you can use these tools:
- List events in a date range, with timezone support.
- Create an event, with attendees if needed.
- Update an event.
- Cancel an event.
- Respond to an invitation with accept, tentative, or decline.
By default the connection uses your primary calendar.
Write actions and confirmation
Reading your calendar and preparing a brief are available directly. Actions that change something are treated as write actions. Cancelling an event and responding to an invitation always require explicit confirmation, and creating or updating an event requires confirmation when it would notify or change attendees. This keeps Dawn from messaging other people on your behalf without a deliberate approval.
Troubleshooting
- Sign-in fails or is cancelled: start the connection again and approve the Google permissions Dawn requests.
- No events appear: confirm you connected the Google account that holds the calendar you expect.
- An event change is blocked: cancelling, responding, or any change that touches attendees needs explicit confirmation. Approve the action to let it run.
