Google Ads Integration

Use Google Ads integration to let Dawn inspect a connected customer account and run read-only reporting queries for campaign, ad group, keyword, and performance questions.

Google Ads is a workspace integration. A workspace owner or manager connects it, links the customer accounts to use as sources, and assigns those sources to the agents that need them. Access is read and reporting only. Dawn does not edit campaigns.

Before you start

  • A Google account with access to the Google Ads customers Dawn should use.
  • The Manager role in the workspace, which is required to create the connection.

Google Ads connects through Google sign-in and requests the Google Ads API scope.

Connecting Google Ads

  1. Open the workspace Integrations screen and add a Google Ads connection.
  2. Complete the Google sign-in and consent flow.
  3. Discover customers and link the accounts you want to use.
  4. Assign the linked sources to the agents that should use them.

What Dawn discovers

Dawn lists the Google Ads customers the connected account can access. If the account is a manager account, Dawn also discovers the client customers it manages. Each customer becomes one source. For accounts reached through a manager account, Dawn keeps the manager context so reporting queries run against the right customer.

What Dawn can do

Access is read and reporting only. An assigned agent can use these tools:

  • Get customer profile fields for the connected account.
  • Search the account with a read-only Google Ads Query Language (GAQL) query, for campaign, ad group, keyword, budget, and performance reporting.

There are no edit, create, or delete tools. Campaign changes still belong in the native Google Ads tools.

Troubleshooting

  • Sign-in fails or is cancelled: start the connection again and approve the Google permissions Dawn requests.
  • No customers appear: the signed-in Google account likely does not have access to the expected Google Ads customers, or the wrong account was used.
  • A query returns nothing: confirm the GAQL query and the date conditions, and that the customer context is correct for manager-linked accounts.
